Despite Some Rumours, Snapdragon 836 Is Still Coming

A few days ago, many sites, including us, have reported that Snapdragon 836 does not exist and that Google Pixel 2 will launch with Snapdragon 835 chipset. While the latter chipset might power Google's new lineup, it looks like an improved version of the Snapdragon 836 is still in the works.
Evan Blass claims that the new model might have different branding and that Qualcomm has been forced to delay the improved chipset until the beginning of next year. There shouldn't be any big performance increase, only some optimizations, so we probably need to wait until Snapdragon 845 to see major improvements.

Re: SD836, I haven't heard anything further since my initial tweet, and since the source has proven accurate time after time, I stand by it.
So, 836: QCT had told GOOG to expect it, but then delayed it until early next year (tho perhaps under diff branding), forcing Pixels to 835.
