A beta version of Spotify for Xbox One is finally being tested internally and a public release could be just around the corner, according to posts on Reddit. The music streaming service became available on the PS4 back in 2015 and it's available on a range of other platforms.
Spotify doesn't have many competitors in the music streaming arena. Groove Music, Microsoft's own offering, certainly isn't one of them. Because Groove isn't likely to be notably affected by Spotify, it appears Microsoft realized there were more benefits to adding the app than to keeping it away.
A release date isn't known.
