HDR displays still aren't typical in the smartphone industry and one of relatively few handsets with one is the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. Though that has the potential to improve video quality, it only matters when applicable content is available, which is why a recent Netflix update will be useful for XZ Premium users.
Sony's smartphone has become the second handset to work with HDR content on Netflix. The first phone to receive that support was the LG G6, which began working with the Netflix HDR library in May 2017.
