New MediaTek Helio Chipsets To Be Announced On August 29

MediaTek chipsets have been known for cheap, entry-level solutions, but over the last few years, the company has been trying to prove it can make much better chipsets that are competitive with Qualcomm's offering. Unfortunately the flagship Helio X30 hasn't proved like a solution that can compete with Snapdragon 835, Kirin 960 or Exynos 8895 chipsets, but it is still a very good chipset.
After launching the flagship chipset, MediaTek is now preparing to refresh its mid-range offering. The company is now sending invites for the Helio P23 and Helio P30 launch event on August 29. The former is built using the 16nm process and is expected to compete with the Snapdragon 450, while the Helio P30 is using TSMC's 12 nm process and should compete with Qualcomm's 600 series.
