At its IFA 2017 press conference in Berlin, Acer has announced a range of new devices, including updated Swift 5, Spin 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition convertibles. The main change over the predecessors is addition of the latest eighth generation of Intel Core processors, which according to Intel brings "40% performance boost" over devices with 7th generation Core processors.
Acer Swift 5 is priced at $999 and will go on sale in December. It comes with the same magnesium-lithium alloy chassis and specifications aside from the new CPU and offers up to 8 hours of battery life.
The 13.3-inch Spin 5 convertible has even better battery life with up to 13 hours on a single charge, an optional Acer Active Stylus and an option for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics on the 15-inch model. This model will go on sale next month for $799 and up.
The last model is the Switch 7 Black Edition 2-in-1 PC. This Windows tablet comes with a 13.5-inch IPS display, a kickstand, a detachable backlit keyboard, and a Wacom digitizer with support for a pressure-sensitive digital pen. It will also go on sale in December for $1,699 and up.
