Timeline, a Windows 10 feature announced by Microsoft earlier this year, has had its release delayed. It was supposed to come with the Fall Creators Update, but now Microsoft says it won't be available in time for that operating system release. With Timeline, users will have an easier time switching between devices, including those running iOS and Android.
Timeline won't be in the Fall Creators Update. We're planning for it to be in early insider builds shortly after Fall Creators Update is out.- Microsoft
Since it won't be in the Fall Creators Update, it's likely we'll be waiting until around March 2018 to get the feature.
Timeline is similar to Apple's Continuity feature, which lets people carry their work from one device to another. The benefit is that it's not limited to Windows devices.
