At Computex 2017, AMD and ASUS unveiled the first Ryzen-powered laptop, the Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC. Although the new architecture has been out for around 3 months, we are still missing support from companies, as there were only three laptops at the trade show - the aforementioned ASUS model, Acer Nitro 5 (RX 550) and Dell Inspiron Gaming 15 (RX 560), but the Acer and Dell laptops feature AMD FX APUs.
AMD has revealed more information about their ambitions for the mobile platform for this and next year. The company said that we can expect to see thin and light, consumer, and 2-in-1 convertibles.
The On-Die "Vega" graphics chips are coming to mobile PCs in the second half of 2017. AMD promises 50% CPU and 40% GPU performance gains over the current 7th Gen APU (Bristol Ridge), while using 50% less power.
