There isn't really a smartphone company that doesn't struggle in a certain segment, but HTC is definitely one that has big problems and needs major strategy change. The company even recently announced that it will only launch three or four new phones per year.
However, the recently unveiled HTC U11 is definitely enjoying strong sales since its launch in late May and according to president of HTC's smartphone and connected device division, Chang Chia-lin, the smartphone has already outsold both its predecessors, the HTC M10 and M9.
During the same meeting, HTC's Chairwoman Cher Wang said that they are looking towards a promising financial year and that HTC has seen an "excellent opportunity" in the rapidly growing market for virtual reality (VR) products.
