The maker of an inexpensive Alpha Litebook Linux notebook has now announced two new devices - a compact desktop and another notebook. The laptop is called Alpha Centurion laptop and desktop PC is Alpha Litebox, both of which run Elementary OS, a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu.
The Centurion laptop features a 15.6-inch 1080p display, an Intel Core i7-3517U clocked at 1.9 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and a choice between a 1TB hard drive, 480GB SSD, or 120GB SSD/1 TB hard drive hybrid setup. Depending on configuration, prices range from $429 up to $549.
If you are interested in a Linux desktop PC, the Alpha Litebox starts at $249 and goes up to $449. It features either a quad-core 2.0 GHz Celeron (J1900), 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive, or a dual-core 1.6 GHz Core i5-5200U, 8 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB hard drive.
