SpaceX Planning To Launch Falcon Heavy This Summer

SpaceX is close to launching its large Falcon Heavy rocket for the first time. Earlier this week it posted a video of the rocket being tested and it's planning on a launch sometime this summer. The availability of the Falcon Heavy will be an important development for the company.
Static fire test of a Falcon Heavy side booster completed in McGregor, TX last week. This booster previously launched Thaicom 8.
It's capable of lifting 119,000 lbs (54 metric tons) into orbit, enabling SpaceX to easily carry out larger missions than it can with the Falcon 9.

SpaceX also has big plans for the future of the Falcon Heavy. It was designed "from the outset to carry humans into space and restores the possibility of flying missions with crew to the Moon or Mars."
