For its 2017 flagship smartphones, Samsung designed a new display called Infinity Display. Both the display and rear side use hardened Gorilla Glass 5, one of the best glass solutions on the market, but even the Glass 5 is still prone to breaking relatively easily.
According to SquareTrade test, the Galaxy S8 is the first phone they've tested that has cracked on the first drop on all sides. When you read that, the first thing that comes to your mind is that the repair is costly and new display is even more expensive than the one used in Galaxy S7.
Although no cheap, but the replacement Galaxy S8 screens are not that expensive. They start at around $200, which is almost $100 cheaper than the launch price of replacement screens for its predecessor.
