Largest Floating Solar Plant Launches In China

Huainan, a city in China's Anhui province, is now home to the world's largest floating solar panel plant. The facility is live and has been connected to the local power grid, providing an alternative source of energy for the region.
Sungrow Power Supply Co. created the technology that's powering the 40-megawatt setup. Floating solar farms of this sort are useful since they free up land space and the cooler surrounding air helps reduce the risk of performance declines.
The solar facility is located over a region that was previously used for coal mining, exemplifying China's interest in moving towards alternative energy sources.
