The biggest mobile payment service in China, Alipay, is coming to the United States. Alipay already has 450 million users around the world, with nearly all of those coming from Asia, particularly China. It's entering the US through a partnership with First Data, a payment processor company.
With the partnership, Alipay will be accepted at over four million retail partners in the US. Even if local users don't switch away from apps like Apple Pay, Asian tourists could find the support useful when visiting the country.
Alipay is operated by Ant Financial, a spin-off of Alibaba.
