Google's mobile payment service has recently launched in the United Kingdom, but during its developer conference I/O 2017, the company announced an expansion of Android Pay, upgrades to its Payment API, new loyalty features for merchants, and more.
Android Pay is currently available in 10 markets and is now heading to Canada, Russia, Spain, Brazil and Taiwan. Users will experience smoother payments with new API, which now also allows merchants to reward their most loyal customers. There is also an option to send peer-to-peer payments using Google Assistant. Last but not least is the Google Payment API, which saves verified credit and debit cards to a Google account for quick payments in-app or on the mobile website.
