Subscriber growth at Netflix wasn't as high as expected during the last quarter, though it plans to bring itself over the 100 million mark in the second quarter. It expects to reach 102 million subscribers with 600,000 new domestic users and 2.6 million international subscribers.
The streaming service is trying to attract more users around the globe through exclusive original content and marketing. Netflix will spend $1 billion on marketing during the course of 2017.

While Netflix had expected to report 5.2 million subscribers during Q1, it instead reported 1.42 million domestic additions and 3.53 million international additions.
