Support for group payments has been added to Facebook Messenger, expanding upon the messaging app's person-to-person payments. When you're in a group chat, you can either send money to everyone or pick individual members to pay.
You can send other users money by clicking the payments icon, which is available after you click the plus sign.
Person-to-person payments have been supported by Facebook Messenger since 2015.
This feature may be useful when multiple users need to cover a restaurant bill or a group gift, among other things. Messenger's group payments option helps the app compete against services like Venmo.
