As promised, Sony has finally started rolling out the major software update for PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4.5 System Update, codenamed "Sasuke", is finally available and brings a lot of new features and improvements, among which the two most important are Boost Mode and support for external hard drives.
The console owners no longer need to replace their hard drives with a larger one since they can use external drives for to downloads and games. The drive can be up to up to 8 TB in size and connects directly to USB 3.0.
As for the Boost Mode, it provides better performance for select legacy titles that have not been patched to take advantage of the PS4 Pro's faster CPU and GPU.
