There are various studies that put iPhones ahead of Android devices, and the opposite, but according to a latest one, iPhones are apparently less reliable than Android devices. The research was done by Blancco Technology Group, a leading global provider of mobile device diagnostics and secure data, and shows when for any reason device doesn't operate as intended. This includes a number of different categories, such as system issues, camera problems, touchscreen malfunctions, battery charging issues and more.
The data of the report were collected from millions of iOS and Android devices over the course of five quarters. The study shows that failure rates of iPhones are steadily increasing, with 62% failure rate in Q4 2016, up from 15% last year.
The report also mentions that the iPhone 6 has been the worst performing iOS device, with the highest failure rate. Most of the issues that impact iPhone owners include overheating, crashing apps and headphone malfunctions, while Android failures are mostly related to camera, battery charging, and USB glitches.
