$89 Linux-Based Prototype Notebook Surfaces Online

Pine64, a company behind a popular Raspberry Pi challenger $20 Pine A64, is at it again. The company is working on a laptop lineup called Pinebook that is running Linux and the best thing about is its extremely affordable. Two models are in the works and both should cost under $100.
The same processor that powers the $20 Pine A64 board is also powering the 11-inch and 14-inch Pinebook notebooks, which are priced at $89 and $99, respectively. They have 720p resolution, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of eMMC 5.0 storage, two USB 2.0 ports, a microSD slot, a mini HDMI input, headphone jack, built-in microphone, a 1.2-megapixel camera, and a 10,000mAh lithium polymer battery. There is also support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connections.
There is no word on when the models will be released, but new live images show 11-inch model in its prototype stage.
