As promised, Meizu has unveiled its next-generation charging technology at Mobile World Congress 2017. Dubbed the Super mCharge, the new fast charging technology fully charges a smartphone with 3,000 mAh battery from zero to 100% in just 20 minutes while using a 11V/5A charger.
The charger is able to deliver impressing 55W and an upgraded data cable supports up to 160W. Meizu has achieved that by using charge pumps, utilizing "two groups of conversion circuits to directly output half of the voltage" and increasing the charging efficiency from 9% to 98%.
After 800 charge and discharge cycles, the battery will still retain over 80% of its original capacity.
