Over 10 million Cardboard VR viewers have been shipped by Google since the inexpensive mobile VR system's release, says VP of VR Amit Singh. The executive also mentioned there have been 160 million Cardboard app downloads and 30 different apps have been downloaded at least 1 million times each.
Although Google's focus is on growing its Daydream VR platform and View headset, Cardboard has helped introduce VR to a massive number of people.
Singh announced the milestones while speaking at Mobile World Congress.
He also mentioned Daydream phone/headset users are viewing an average of 40 minutes of content per week. Half of all Daydream content consumption is on YouTube.
