Pokemon Go Has Finally Reached South Korea

Pokemon Go has been available since the summer of 2016, but it is just reaching South Korea. At a time when people in other countries have generally already stopped playing the hit mobile game, Koreans have finally gained official access to it.
The game's Korean launch was more complicated than in other regions due to the country's restrictions on Google Maps. Pokemon Go is reliant on Maps for much of its functionality.

Niantic used "various publicly accessible data sources" to build an alternative to Maps for use in the country.
