HTC Denies Rumors Of Android Smartwatch; Vive-Branded Fitness Watch Might Be In The Works

Despite several leaked pictures of an alleged Android Wear smartwatch that is being developed by HTC and Under Armour, HTC has now released an official statement on the matter. HTC's President of Smartphones and Connected Devices Chialin Chang said that they are "not going to have an Android watch." The company also officially confirmed the executive's quote.
However, that doesn't mean HTC isn't working on a fitness tracker/smartwatch. According to a new FCC filing, an HTC wearable with the Vive branding has been certified. The device has the model number 2PYV100, and the design reveals a circular shape with heart rate monitoring elements and RF antennas for wireless connectivity.
