Dell Allegedly Shipping XPS 15 Without Fingerprint Scanner

Dell officially launched its new XPS 15 laptop yesterday. The Full HD variant is available for $1,749, while the 4K variant costs $2,249. Both models are expected to feature embedded fingerprint scanner, but apparently the scanner is not yet enabled.
The situation is rather confusing. According to Dell's GM Frank Azor, the XPS 9560 no longer comes with fingerprint scanner, but according to a chat between Reddit user kbcastillo and a Dell representative, the XPS 15 comes with a fingerprint scanner but it would need to be "activated." The mystery will be resolved when first users report their feedbacks.
