Google Faces Lawsuit For Internal Anti-Leak Spying, Excessive Confidentiality Rules

A former Google product manager is suing the company over its alleged internal "spying program" and excessive confidentiality rules. Google is accused of violating California labor laws by encouraging employees to expose others who may be leaking information. It also doesn't permit any workplace discussion about work issues, including wages and legal violations.
The company has allegedly threatened employees with exposing them to the media if they leak information. It has told workers to avoid writing down legal concerns or company problems so that the info cannot spread.
Google says all of the primary claims in the lawsuit are "baseless."
We will defend this suit vigorously because it's baseless. We're very committed to an open internal culture, which means we frequently share with employees details of product launches and confidential business information. Transparency is a huge part of our culture.- Google
