An official release of AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics card


Radeon RX 400 has finally made an official release of the graphics accelerator based on the Polaris 10 (Ellesmere) chip. Starting today, the new product under the name Radeon RX 480 will 
be available in stores in versions with 4 and 8 GB of video memory.
As for the technical parameters of the latest accelerator, it should be noted Polaris 2304 stream 
processors architecture (Graphics Core Next 4) among the main operating at a frequency of 
1266 MHz. GDDR5 memory is characterized by the effective frequency of 8 GHz and uses a 256
-bit interface. "Raw" video card performance is 5.8 teraflops and TDP level is at around 150 
watts.


Among the notable features of the new items the producer improved energy efficiency by 2.8 
times compared to the previous generation of cards, HDR technology support (High Dynamic 
Range), as well as compliance with the minimum requirements for the PC graphics subsystem 
existing virtual reality headsets.




The recommended price of Radeon RX 480 in the configuration with four gigabytes of graphics 
memory is $ 199 and a version with eight buyers will cost at least $ 230.
